I recently attended one of Infohrm’s workshops on Workforce Analytics. While I am relatively new to the concept of workforce analytics, I found a few key takeaways and pointers from the course that I found very interesting and I thought I would share with you.
1. Make sure you can answer the questions: What Matters?, How are we doing?, Where are the issues?, and What are we going to do about them?
2. Be patient–this process (done correctly) takes time and it’s constantly changing with new findings.
3. Create a set of standard agreed upon definitions and formulas throughout your organization.
4. Using an average may not always be the best approach. Occasional outliers can deter you from what is actually going on.
5. Benchmarking information should be used as a guide and NOT as a target or a goal. Always set internal goals and strive towards those.
